This week 5th Class were learning about Rocks and Solids and Local Studies. We were lucky to have a visit from Gosia (Owais’s Mum) who showed us lots of wonderful things and explained where they came from. We saw various types of rocks, we learned how they were formed and where we can find them in our local area; from the caves behind our school to Ballyheigue and Fenit! We saw some fossils that were up to 50million years old! We were very lucky to have the opportunity to study rocks and gems under the microscope too! Thanks again Gosia, we loved it!
